Leadership Team

The leadership team of Touchstone is a synergistic partnership of proven leadership practitioners who are united in key convictions and commitments:

  1. We are united in our commitment to address a growing epidemic of leadership plateau, decline and failure experienced by so many young leaders as they reach significant pressure points in their journey.
  2. We are united in our conviction that leadership failure under pressure is primarily caused by inadequate foundations.
  3. We are united in our passion to be part of the solution by pouring out our lives for the next generation of leaders.

Each leadership team member maintains an active role in national or international leadership while also intentionally giving significant portions of time to helping emerging and strategic leaders lay the foundation stones (we call them Touchstones) that will ensure a lifetime of effective leadership.

Dan Scarrow
Managing Partner – Dan Scarrow

Dan has served as the Director of Leadership Development for the Central District of the C&MA since 2008. He gives most of his time and energy to coaching and mentoring emerging leaders, while also developing environments that will create strategic formation and transformation.

Previous to his current role Dan served as the Executive Pastor of Missoula Alliance Church from 2001 to 2008 and planted the Hamilton Alliance Church beginning in 1997.

Dwight Smith
Partner for Strategic Impact - Dwight Smith

Dwight P. Smith, D.Miss, Biola University, has been the President of Saturation Church Planting International, Inc. (SCP International) since January 1996. Previous to that, he was the President of United World Mission (UWM), the President of the Alliance for Saturation Church Planting (Alliance), the founding Pastor of Cornerstone Bible Church, San Jose, California, and he served two missionary terms in South America, one developing Theological Education by Extension (TEE) programs and the second as Bolivarian Area Director.

SCP International's ultimate commitment is to world evangelization through Saturation Church Planting... an SCP movement initiated in every country and/or every significant geographical region of the planet within this generation.

In addition to his responsibilities as the leader of Saturation Church Planting International, Dr. Smith carries a strong burden for the local churches of North America because it is his firm belief that the local church is God's primary instrument for world evangelization. Because of this, he makes himself available on weekends for conferences, teaching seminars and leadership workshops as his schedule permits.

John Curlin
Partner for Spiritual Formation – John Curlin

John is a retired physician who has spent the majority of his adult life in lay ministry. He has been part of a church plant; serving in leadership, teaching, discipling, and missions. The last ten years he has focused on the development of a greater and more intimate relationship with the Lord. The tool for this ministry has been assisting others to be aware of what the Holy Spirit is communicating to them in prayer. Many Christian leaders are unaware of the issues in their lives that block a functional relationship with the Lord and thus hinders their spiritual transformation. John and his wife Leeba live six months a year in Panama; from there he also travels to other Central American countries to be of aid to churches and other organizational leadership and those to whom they minister. While in the United States they live in Humboldt, TN. Their time is divided between their large family and ministry.
